Way out
I was challenged by an 'official' today while here, taking photos.
He rolled up in his van and asked what I was doing there (a public car park). With a camera in my hand, I had thought it would be very clear what I was doing, but I explained anyway.
Apparently, "people come here to do drugs", and because I hadn't parked a car there, that would be my only reason for being there, by his logic anyway. He told me I should have asked for his permission first! Pfft.....I'm 42, not 5, apart from the fact that's the first time I've ever seen a so-called security guard there, and bearing in mind a whole bunch of us blipper weirdos had done a lengthy photo shoot there only a few months ago with not a word of complaint pointed in our direction. (Insert swear words here)(and some more.)
I am not known for being assertive, but he really riled me. So he was told exactly what I thought, and that I was perfectly entitled to be there and was breaking no law by doing so. By the time I left I was shaking, (I'm rubbish at confrontation), but he clambered back into his van sheepishly, under no illusion that I was a pushover and would meekly toddle off out of there. I took some extra shots just to piss him off as he left :)
I might go there again tomorrow, with an extra camera. Naked. See how he likes that....
