Meeting friends

Day off so I headed into Brighton to catch some rays and meet a friend. I've not seen Jen for a while so it was lovely and we had a chat about loads of boring stuff around pedagogy and academic disciplines and some of the emerging stuff where our interests intersect and we really had a good natter. It's invigorating to spend time with a live-wire with whom it doesn't feel like a competition but a genuine exchange of ideas. We also chatted about mutual friends and colleagues and had a proper good laugh. Didn't miss the football because when I needed to visit the loo I had to walk in front of the big screen the pub had set up..............
