Good Garden Award 2014

We have often noticed these awards in the windows of houses in our little corner of Bristol. In fact we'd often mocked them because some of them are in the windows of houses with far from impressive gardens.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered today that our garden had won one. The closest we get to gardening in our front garden is occationally picking up all the rubbish that gets thrown over the wall, and just about managing to keep the plants from encroaching onto the pavement. It absolutely full of weeds.

It seems the awards are give to gardens that 'add colour to the neighbourhood'. So I can only think the yellow poppies that are running wild next to our front door were a hit with someone.

I'm secretly chuffed, and have promptly blue tacked up the award in the window.
