"Mummy, Look"

4years 261days

After nursery this morning, I was in my sewing room. I heard an excited "Mummy!! Look, I have to show you something!" Katie came in. With a friend. This friend. She had found him in the kitchen, picked him up, watched him a while, talked to him a while. Very happily. I watched her. And then decided he was utterly revolting. For a few seconds. At which point she decided she liked him again and spent a while watching him move round and explore. We took him outside before long, took a photo and set him free in our neighbours' prolific yellow flowers that encroach on our front path!

She'd had a great morning at nursery. They were playing with squishy toy turtles when I arrived. Toy turtles that recorded and played back messages. Lesley told me this morning there had been much hilarity because one of the letters of the day was V. Someone said v for vest. Katie said "My grandad wears vests!" and everyone descended into giggles. I got her final report today and was very proud to read about my happy, confident, bright, helpful little lady. Lesley hinted several times at Katie's serious tendencies to dance, twirl, sing and play imaginative games, as well as her reading & numbers. She said "I'm not going to spell it out too clearly, they're in for quite a surprise when they get Katie".
