Common Green Bottle Fly

More iridescent in large ("L").

This may be just a common blow-fly, but I do find their jewel-like iridescence rather captivating...

I had a busy day (quick trip to Oxford...) and am out this evening, so I nipped into the garden for a play with the macro lens (it has been a while...). There weren't many insects about which was a shame, and I was eventually driven away by my last macro subject.
