Run down

I like Athens a lot and I will visit again, another time when the weather is cooler though :)

What I have noticed about the city is that the police is everywhere, around the Congress, in popular squares, by the metro and in the old Plaka. They are not really doing anything, just being visible. It makes me wonder if the situation in Greece is more delecate than you think.

Another thing I noticed is the poor condition of many houses, like seen in the picture. Many houses are run down and some still have inhabitants but other seem to be vacant. There is graffiti everywhere.

All over I find Greeks to be lovely, open and warm people, polite and patient. I will be back!
