Tintype Photo

My son-in-law recently purchased a Tamron 60mm f2 macro lens which he has loaned me to play with. :) I used it to take a photo of this old miniature photo. I know very little about it but I think it was my grandmother's. I did some searching on the net and I believe it is a tintype and could most likely have been taken in the 1860s. My grandmother's mother was born about 1851 and her father in 1844. If this is case they would be 19 and 26 in 1870. They were married in 1875.

I think it is interesting that he is the dominant subject.

The overall dimensions of the frame are 50mm x 60mm. I used GIMP to clean up it up.
