Fun in the Sun!

On the tip of the Kenai Peninsula, Homer, the last town on the Sterling Highway, stretches along Kachemak Bay. A high bluff right before descending into the town presents a vista that will knock your socks off! Glaciers shine from the mountaintops across the sparkling waters where fishing boats look like tiny water skater bugs far below.
The Homer Spit is a narrow tongue of land that leads from the bottom of the bluff several miles out into the bay. Summer brings visitors from all around the world, and when the tide is out beach combers, runners, playful dogs, kids, kite flyers, sea gulls and eagles - all take advantage of the enormous beach that appears.

Homer is about 80 miles from where we live, and we drove there today to enjoy the scenery and buy fresh oysters that are raised across the bay and scallops from Kodiak Island.
