It's been a rainin'
The past few days have been raining so much. The coastal areas have been deluged and the rest of us are just treading water. Yesterday I got a call from my son Miah who lives on Catalina Island and they had been pounded by high winds and rain. In fact, the "tornado-like" winds had knocked down some huge eucalyptus trees right onto cabins. Also the massive amount of rainfall created a river running right through camp. After he called much later in the day to say they were alright, he and the others grabbed their kayaks and enjoyed rafting down their new "river."
I am not a rainy day girl, but I had lots of schoolwork to do. I teach geography at the local university and had three different syllabi to write. So I lit a fire in the fireplace, stayed in my jammies till 2:00 p.m. and got quite a lot done. I may be doing much of the same tomorrow.....
