Discovering Manizales

Today we headed out from the hacienda to Manizales, the nearest big town. The journey was good fun in an open jeep driving through the beautiful countryside that is the coffee region.
The city doesn't have much in the way of historical sites due to earthquakes and fires in it's past, but it's still got things to see. It has quite a European feel to it, and in keeping with this image, we found a swiss bakery selling delicious strawberry lemonade and tiramisu! Oh how I have missed tiramisu! This one was tasty but obviously wasn't as good as mine ;)
We spent the evening playing uno and bananagrams, and ended with a biblical round of bananagrams. Some of the links did get a little tenuous!
