Rather than go on about a day of rain, exhausts, starters, tyres and the like, I thought I'd focus on the pickings of the allotment. Unfortunately, given how much time I was able to spend at the allotment it turned into more a bit of a to-do list than a celebration

Carrots (delicious skinny thinnings)
Artichoke (delicious, awkward)
Strawberries (past their best, ugly)
Worcesterberries (spiky, unstoppable)
Redcurrants (just coming through)
Whitecurrants (superfluous, pretty)
Lettuce (Oak leaf)
Gooseberries (a touch mildewy)
Potatoes (Lady Christl)
Rhubarb (Zombie, unstoppable)
