Cut from the allotment at the weekend

First of all it was a cardoon. Then it was a globe artichoke.
Either way it is interesting but it's in a vase rather than a saucepan.
Need to find out which it is in order to cook it correctly. Or could try cooking them next year as an artichoke and see what happens? I'm assuming once it has flowered it's 'over'. Lots to learn.

Some shots from directly above were also interesting but liked being able to see the pollen and the bug on this one as well as the contrast of the different parts of the plant. And I've done quite a few head on or 'full frontal flower' shots lately!
