Trees

"I think that I shall never see / a poem as lovely as a tree"

I have no idea why those lines of poetry are so familiar to me. I've just read the rest of the poem and had no idea that's how it continued. Nor that the poet was Alfred Joyce Kilmer, born December 1886 in New Jersey, killed July 1918 in France.

Somehow knowing that makes the lines more meaningful.
