Him and Her.
A female and male house sparrow foraging on my lawn.
Wedded bliss.
The ying and yang reference is just an excuse for a story.
My sister commented yesterday about the time I was stuck on the roof. Here's what happened.
Mid summer, I decided that I'd clean the chimney myself. Borrowed a set of rods and brushes and made a neat plywood hood for the fireplace to prevent any spillage of soot. For some unknown reason the head came off the rods halfway up the chimney. (I may have been turning it the wrong way)
Undeterred I gathered the rods and headed up the ladder on to the roof with the intention of poking the brush head back down again. That worked but when the head dropped it dislodged the plywood hood and the whole room filled with soot.
She was so mad she took the ladder down and left me stranded for about two hours. My ordeal only ended when Mrs. Dowling from next door knocked and asked the soot covered Redhead, "Do you know that your husband is on the roof?"
Talk about "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em.
Up on the roof.
