Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Being away from home on vacation or at camp during the celebration of a holiday is unusual for us and certainly changes the usual celebration. When we arrived at the dining hall for lunch D'Arcy, the camp chef, had a visual treat for everyone. The cupcake flag was also delicious. I had no idea until later that Tristan was in my photo.

The afternoon included the boat race -- little milk carton boats designed and constructed kids and their parents.

The evening banquet was special (as it always is). An Italian meal had been prepared: spinach salad, homemade bread, ristsoto with beef tenderlions, brussel sprouts, and tiramisu for dessert and for a back-drop -- a gorgeous view of the ocean looking east from this island toward the coast of southern California.

It really did not feel like July 4th because we had no view of fireworks, but it was a delightful day.
