Opened recently after four plus years of being shut down, the South Park Neighborhood residents are extremely happy with being reconnected with the city. The bridge fell in disrepair and the state/county/city governments had no monies in the coffers to keep it open. The residents were cut off from a direct route into the city and would add 20 minutes to over and hour in their daily commutes depending on traffic conditions. Businesses suffered in the South Park Neighborhood as well with the flow of traffic passing through was reduced to a trickle.

I do have a happy co-worker who is extremely happy that the bridge is back and that the engineers refurbished a lot of the metal from the old bridge and used it in building the railings and art work around the bridge.
