Blown off course

Normally, our pond has quite a number of wild fowl: Canada geese, mallard ducks, widgeons, the odd coot, and even (for only too brief visits) some wood ducks. On July 3rd, we added six domestic geese. Our guess is that the fireworks (which were prodigious this year for several days) terrified them and they fled to our relatively quiet pond. I trust that they will find their way home soon now that the fireworks seem to be past their peak.
