The Pros & Cons of Autumn fruiters.

On the +ve side ... If you leave some canes uncut, you can get an earlier crop long before the main lot. Useful in a garden small enough to disallow two lots.

On the -ve side ... The mass of new growth makes finding them vaguely reminiscent of playing hide and seek with an ant on the lawn.

Still it's well worth the hunt AND this does not represent the entire crop.
