The Queen's visit
Her Royal Majesty was at the castle today to attend a church service to commemorate those soldiers that fought in WW1. A few of my colleagues and I were held back in Crown Sqaure so we wedged ourselves inconspicuously into a doorway and watched as she inspected the troops. This is of course part of the tradition and very ceremonial, I don't know if she would have actually singled out a soldier of his flashes were crooked! It was an interesting display to see none the less (the brass band in the background were very good) and to see the queen. I wish I had been able to get closer or at least have had my zoom lens but I guess I was lucky to have gotten a photo at all. I was wondering when it was all over, did she go back to Holyrood for some tea and biscuits? I have to say I was impressed by her poise at such an age!
