47. Le Tour

We went to watch Le Tour de France today on its way out of Cambridge. We found a great spot near Whittlesford where there were plenty of people and great atmosphere. Beside us was a family from France who told us (in French) that they were enjoying Le Tour more in England than they do back home. And across from us was a tent full of school kids who were having a grand time. Robin managed to sleep through the race which was pretty impressive given how noisy it was.

Do they ever ride amazingly fast! I’ve always been in awe watching these guys battle through each stage on television. Seeing them up close in person not only affirmed my respect for their athleticism and determination, but also brought home how vulnerable they are on those beautiful tiny bikes.
