The Walled Garden

At Brodick Castle: a formal garden which has disappointed me for the past couple of years but this year looks wonderful. I do like the use of the astilbe to 'point the way' to the sundial; quite innovative, in borders which are more used to roses or chrysanthemums.

Today, two second hand pre loved? books about Gertrude Jekyll and her gardens were delivered, from world of books. Both are in good to excellent condition, one a small paperback, the other a large format, heavily illustrated hardback; each cost £0.01 plus a couple of pounds postage! How can one ever be cured of book-buying when this happens!
