Had to get photographic evidence of Asha trying spinach - I feel like my world has been turned upside down...who is this girl?!!!

Have spent the morning doing research - the things I am learning are horrifying....the atrocities the Romani people have endured over the years are, well, horrific. Thousands upon thousands were murdered during the Nazi years, and the few that escaped murder were forcibly sterilised. And that was just in Germany. I can't imagine what it must be like to be such a hated people...and the truth is, so much of that we think we know about the Romani is actually based on literature, music and art, not fact at all. The arts have so swayed what we think to be true about the Romani, that even government policies all over Europe have often been written based on nothing more than ideas and fantasies. Utterly incredible. And awful.
In Italy a few years ago, a girl said she'd been raped by 2 Romani men, a group of people went and burnt down the Romani camp, killing many in the process...the girl later admitted she'd made it all up. So much hatred and fear - how can our world still be like this??
