Chasing Ice
Almost immediately after getting to Blackstone Bay we started hearing periodic shocks of what sounded like thunder.
Turns it out was actually the sound of one of the glaciers at the end of the bay calving. The next day we decided to kayak down to it and as we arrived we saw this massive glacier calving before our eyes. The ice crashing down off the edge into the water.
Someone described this trip as though we were "kayaking through a margarita". We set our kayaks at a little cove near the glacier and hiked up this rock to get a good look as we ate lunch and just waited for this glacier to get to work.
