Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Woke up in the middle of the night and saw a red line on my leg that was itchy and popping out of my leg like a long bump. I looked up "itchy line on skin" and convinced myself I had scabies. My woken up mother was not nearly as covinced. Turns out it was just a scratch. Oops.

Woke up on the morning and talked to my mom. She made me two chicken sandwiches for brunch then went out.

Lounged around for a while.

Took a shower.

Mom came home and we went to Thom Thom for dinner.

Took Millie outside when I saw some old goggles (pictured). Mom said Millie found them. I remember wearing those goggles all the time when I was younger. Maybe that's symbolic of how my childhood is over. Or maybe they're just dirty goggles and I like English class too much.

Made Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies, hence the name. They were decent but not great. They tasted too much like flour.

Watched the Talking Dead.

Going to bed now.

Night.

Today's Random Thoughts:

When someone is afraid of planes, the first thing everyone says is that you're more likely to die driving in your car. But the statistics aren't why people have a fear of flying; it's the lack of control.

In a car, you feel more safe because, if you're driving, you can trust yourself. If a friend's driving, and maybe poorly, you know that you can get out of the car at any time. In a plane you can't get out. You can't ask the pilot to pull over. You have to surrender control to a complete stranger with the knowledge that if something goes wrong, you can't do anything.

So stop trying to comfort plane fearers with statistics. Tell them the plane is safe, the pilot is experienced, and to just relax and think about other things.
