That'll do
Well, child minding is a lot easier than it used to be!!
Last night's looking after the kids ended with two out of three asking for a sleep over with their Aunty. (JJ decided he wanted to sleep at home - three doors down - with Mum.) This morning was a doddle in terms of looking after them. After I fed them breakfast, (eggs and a whole loaf of toast I think) JJ came back and they all then engaged in a 'Minecraft Fest' until I said 'enough' and "forced" them to play in the garden! Their Aunty is much too old fashioned to see kids spend all day on the sofa. Enough!
Late afternoon bro and I went to see Dad and we were much heartened. Although he looked tired it's understandable because we arrived (deliberately) at the tail end of his previous visitor's three hour stint - his friend Inga- an 85 yr old dynamo who can leave you breathless. Sitting in an arm chair now, Dad seemed noticeably better than when I saw him on Friday - and better looking too as Inga gave him a manicure and pedicure!!
This evening is my first night at home alone. Don't know what to do with myself... I tried turning on the kitchen radio but it is set at Dad's favourite channel (Classic FM) and the image of him happily cooking dinner whilst listening generated a melancholy so I have turned it off. I might have to try watching television as I sit here with my ale of the day. I see there is an episode of Midsomer Murders. That'll do.
Ale in England #6 Ridleys Old Bob
A Ridley’s beer, brewed at Greene King since late 2005. Personally, my least favourite so far.
