at home with an Ivysaurus

Leaking from both ends...

Ivy really wasn't very well today. At about 7 Pops brought her to me for a feed and then she went back downstairs to play- but he brought her back up almost immediatly as she clearly wanted me. Then she started to cough and it turns out she had a pea that she was vomiting up stuck in her throat. Gave her a good thump and a torrent of sick came out and just kept coming. She seemed a bit better after throwing up, until she filled a nappy and as I was taking her up to change her noticed it (Graphic image to follow- dont' read if you're squemish)was running out of her nappy and down my arm. Put her in the bath and hosed her down. We had one dirty nappy after another- she went through 20 cloth nappies today.

Needless to say there was a LOT of washing to do- the bed linen (including the duvet) needed washed and Granny Grant and Pops had to wring it by hand as the machine coulnd't spin it.

She didn't eat much today at all- but kept nursing. She was pretty much back to her usual self- albiet still without eating- by the time Euan got back in the late afternoon. Having changed 15+ dirty nappies and had the stuff all over my arms today- I think there'll be a a good few weeks of 'it's your turn to change her' coming his way.

She didn't want to go to bed tonight and was still up at 9pm. She makes a sound very like 'at' which is clearly her word for 'cat' but it's often followd by a word that sounds like 'dum' . Granny Grant thinks Ivy might be tying to say 'Cat, Come!' which would make sense as we know she unerstand the word Come and it would match the hand gestures she makes.
