Back blip

Very early start to get a decent viewing for Le Tour at Ilkley.

We were *only * there 4.5 hours early though and that time passed very quickly before the riders came through with the lively " caravan " which was a huge carnival of vans playing music and throwing out freebies . The police were part of it and were being high fived . Everyone but everyone was up for shouting and fun.

Took hundreds of shots but all the bike ones were blurred.

This blip sums up how Yorkshire people have been so welcoming for Le Tour this weekend .

We shouted , smiled, cheered and were bloody friendly. It was like The Olympics all over again with everyone unified and buzzing .

There was a breakaway of three followed by a huge peloton . What I discovered is if you are standing one legged on a railing with flags in one hand , trying to wave , clap and take photos of the riders it generally doesn't end well.

Take my word for it though , the riders were a spectacle.


Loads of others will have blipped the riders , so I present you with " Ey Up World "

Oh and it was my 7yr anniversary of having my life saved so a big day all round .
