Target Sighted...Tongue Engaged!

This female Ruby-throated Hummingbird was pleased as punch when I freshened the feeders this morning. Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backward as well as hover in one spot like insects. They are constantly in motion, perching only briefly to rest and to check out their surroundings, or when they are sitting on the nest.
