Elephant Day
We celebrated Elephant Day in Barnstaple - remains of an elephant were found here years ago and the fossils are now in the Natural History Museum.... some of the teeth were brought down by two members of the NHM and put on display on a brilliantly sunny day down here. This papier machee elephant was paraded up The Strand a short distance, (it rests on a wheeled trolley) followed by a Samba Band at the end of a lovely day's happenings in the Square.
