London. And J.

Katie went to preschool as normal this morning. Or vaguely normal. She was absolutely hyper about the fact we were going away when she had finished! I picked her up 15minutes early and we got a taxi to the station. We got a quick drink and were nicely in time for our train. She slept for about 90 minutes of the journey, played iPod for a bit and had a picnic either side of her sleep!
The first sight we saw as we arrived at Kings Cross was the beautiful smiling face of the gorgeous Challenge/J. It was like meeting an old friend. Which she has been for a long time, just not in person. We took a walk round the outside of the station so Katie could play on the giant bird cage swing. We looked at all the giant children's illustrations on exhibit outside. We had a look at the viewing platform into the station and across the city. We then spent a lot of time at the Granary Square water-play. Katie, slightly tentative at first, but confident before long, had a wonderful time in and out of the water. We had a lovely bit of time in the Central art school enjoying the beautiful light and architecture. A run up and down the lawned steps near the canal for Katie. And then the call of cake became very strong so we headed to St Pancras. What a wonderful wonderful time we had with such fabulous company. So relaxed, happy and just what we needed.
We made the tube journey to our cousin's in Sutton and had a lovely meal. The perfect end to a great day.
