Visiting with Louie
I slept terribly last night :-(
I've had tonsillitis for days, and it seems to have ulcerated and the pain is unbearable! Paracetamol isn't touching it. I went to bed early as I was tired, but was awake at 01:30am, 3:30am, etc, in pain. I was miserable. Shoved some more meds down and tried to fall asleep (listening to the rain), but got up at 7am in the end, as I'd had enough!
An early start meant I got my jobs done quickly, but I didn't really feel 100% and it felt like a huge effort. I went to my mum's about 1pm, where I found not one, but two dogs!
My sister's friend had stopped by with her 3 month old puppy, Louie, and he was gorgeous! Bursting with all that puppyish joy and curiosity! We all got tiddled on :-) He was such a cutie, and Boden was happy, although we made sure we gave him lots of attention so he didn't feel left out! They went out to a fair together, so that was the last I saw of them!
I had planned to do some reports, but ended up taking a power nap on the sofa- sometimes your body needs it. Besides, it was raining anyway. I made plans to meet a friend for a drink and a catch up this evening in London. We decided not to go to the pub to watch the football, as we knew it would involve queueing, so we opted for the Slug and Lettuce just down the road from Waterloo. They ended up having the game on anyway, so we watched a bit of it, which was nice as we could actually see the screen without all the crowds! We had a really good catch up, and called it quits about 11pm as we were both exhausted! On the train journey up I was really unlucky, as 20 guys on a stag do got into the same carriage as me. I didn't even see them coming, so it was a tense and unnerving 20 minutes pretending to look happy and jovial so that they left me alone!
I caught the 11:30 train back, and purposely sat and blocked two seats so I would not have the same problem again. A nice man of similar age to my dad asked if he could sit there, and I was happy to oblige.
Well. It turned out to be one of those chance meetings that turns out to be divine intervention! He was sort of a life coach, and we had a great chat as we were headed to the same station. I have to say he really made me feel heaps better about everything, his advice was spot on. He gave me a free ticket to a seminar type thing I might want to go to, and it was just a really insightful and comforting chat. I'm not alone, other people feel the same, and there are things I can change and take forward with me. He very kindly walked me from the station to my car, which I thought was a very gentlemanly thing to do, considering we had only just met. I thanked him for his help and advice, and we planned to connect via Facebook. He cupped my face as he left, and told me to have a good life. And that moment filled me with hope and optimism for the future, no matter what happens.
Talk about fate, hey? :-)
