Respect Trumps Hate

A local Marine – a 19-year-old boy – recently killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, was buried today. Unbelievably, his funeral was targeted for protest by the Westborough Baptist Church because he was gay (see: http://miscellanyblue.com/post/90418968627).

We lined up on Main Street as the funeral procession passed through town, to take a stand against hateful bigotry and pay our respects to the soldier's family. Following the procession were thousands of bikers – The Patriot Guard Riders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Guard_Riders) had turned out in force.
