There's a reason why the light switch for this part of the garden was labeled "Jungle" when we moved in. (It still is.) I liked the combination of large and small leaves in this small part of the jungle as well as the colors and the play of light and shadow.

Thank you all for reading and responding so positively to my Independence Day essay yesterday. I asked OilMan if he thought it sounded like a rant, and he said, "No. I sounds like you are expressing your frustration." I feel a bit less frustrated after your positive comments. You are indeed a special group of people ,and have all become a growing and very important part of my life.

Afterthought: Sad days in the sports world. I feel so bad for Neymar and Cavendish, shot down by injuries before they could finish what they trained for. The look of pain, physical and psychic was undeniable.
