most of the day at the allotment...

...which meant I left taking photos until way too late.
Hence a late evening shot of the inside of a hollyhock (I think - yey, access to loads of other people's plants now I have keys to allotment site!) which shows again my challenge with focus and depth of field using the tubes.

Day 1 - a lot cleared. Plus lots of planning, lots of chat, lots of burning (and lots of bites and stings - fortunately not from the bees in the plot next door). Mum and I worked hard and had fun plus had the handy addition for an hour or so of my fab neighbour with his petrol strimmer.

As my niece (then aged 3) said many years ago on my previous attempt to have an allotment (too far from home that one): 'do you know why it's called an allotment Aunty Helen? It's because it's a lot of work.'

I can tell already I have a very different attitude to it this time.
Along with blip, I think it's going to be another part of my stress relief and reason to be and look outside.
