The Travelling Doctor

This is one of the "traveling doctors" at Skerries races today. They follow out at the end of the last wave of riders to ensure that they are on the scene of an accident within a minute of an incident.

Traveling at speeds of up to 140mph (225kph) up narrow lanes they put their own lives at risk constantly in the pursuit of safety of the racers. Unlike the racers, they can never win the trophies or fame of the riders. They ride without registrations on their motorcycles for fear of reprisal from insurance companies. Without them, the traveling marshals and the myriad of volunteers the races would never go ahead.
