A very Welsh stall in Swansea Market
To Swansea where parts of the shopping streets look forlorn - or in the midst of a great transformation if you prefer. But the real joy after the urban deserts of most Scottish towns is to be able to visit a large indoor market. A mix of food and non-food stalls with lots of local produce, including the local delicacy of laverbread (edible seaweed). It's very hard to pass the stalls baking fresh Welsh cakes on hot plates - though probably a good idea in the long run. I've also always liked their provision of several stalls that are just taken by local farmers on the day selling whatever is fresh and available.
