Variation on a theme
Walked to the top of Arnside Knott. It was a cross Bay walk day but unusually it started at Kent's Bank and finished in Arnside. The idea was to try to get a shot looking down on Cedric Robinson, the Queen's Guide to the sands, leading his flock of two or three hundred Moses like across the River Kent avoiding the notorious quicksands. But alas there was no sign of anyone out there. Maybe I had the time wrong. But looking down on the channel I began to think that the 24 hours of rain yesterday meant that the Kent channel was too deep and fast for safety.
The viaduct looked splendid in the sunshine. But it must be one of the most photographed scenes in the north of England. And yet we continue to search for another shot with a slightly different angle. Here is my attempt.
