Not so wild flowers !

Seafield Pond just round the corner from where I live is a reclaimed rubbish tip and prior to that it was marshland through which the sea channelled to what was the old port of Belhaven ( now across the other side of a busy main road ). The sea wall now holds the sea well back from the pond. It is a public amenity area and there are several acres of grassland which the council has to maintain and mow regularly, for all the dog walkers, duck feeders and others who regular visit this patch of land. Last year for the first time a couple of beds of wild flowers started to appear and bring some much needed colour to the area. This year I noted that the council had roughly dug over these patches of flowers and planted some wild flower seeds. These are now coming into their own so there is a large variegated splash of colour at the corner of the pond. Well done that council official who had this bright idea. It can’t have cost much but considerably brightens my afternoon walk with the dogs.
