Petunias: 50 Shades of Lilac

The petunias have been blooming while we were away on holiday, thanks to our lovely neighbours Bill and Betty who have been round each day to ensure they got watered.

The label on the hanging basket, bought at a local branch of a garden centre chain which shall remain nameless, tells me it's called '50 Shades of Lilac Hanging Basket'. I suppose there's a certain dull inevitability about this - perhaps I shouldn't expect marketing departments to exercise too much imagination. But the flowers themselves are beautiful and joyous, and should last well on through the summer.
