Boston was smacked by the tail of Tropical Storm Arthur. Being the 4th of July, there were supposed to be the annual celebratory fireworks at the Esplanade along the river tonight. The Powers That Be thought it prudent to have the fireworks last night, on the 3rd. Late in the evening the storm came through: torrential rain, tree limbs down, thunder and lightning ("very, very frightening"?). It hasn't let up all day, and fortunately, since it's a holiday, all we had to do was watch and listen to Nature's temper. The Blip is the "view" through our window facing right into the storm.
