Renovations and Installations

Due for renovations, the back yard of our property will soon feature two new water tanks, the crazy paving will be filled up with sand and cement, and a new retaining wall to the flower bed will be in place.

Formerly there were lovely wooden stumps, but they have rotted away. The kitchen steps leading to the washing line, will also get a face lift. Sleepers were used for the steps, but they too started to rot and decay.

The water tanks will carry 5000 l each, that is 5 tons of bearing down weight. This water reserve will initially be used for the garden, but should The GardenRoute Dam completely run dry, (currently at 20% level) it will be utilised for inside use as well. Water filters will then be installed.

Although I was raised on a farm, I have no desire to bath with bird poo floating around in my bath water.

Gerhard is in charge of the renovations, and I am glad to say that he seems to be a very able person.
