#Indyref

Well, here we are folks - 75 days away from referendum on the independence of Scotland. Interestingly, today is what the Americans call Independence Day. Coincidence? Yes...

I've certainly noticed a change of tone lately - namely more nastiness on both sides, which really can't be helpful for anyone. I'm assured that we won't go to war over it, and that's A Good Thing.

I've decided that in my life I will stay away from negativity and fear. I'm happy to listen to people with views that differ from mine as long as they present those views positively and preferably showing how their vision is more progressive. I'd be genuinely interested to see that.

I think the Blip Central idea of tagging blips with #Indyref is a good thing and will provide an invaluable record in the months and years to come. More importantly, I think the rule of "Be excellent to each other" is crucial to this debate in particular and I would like to thank contributors again for their respectful discussion on my #100days blip. I know we can continue to be polite and cheerful.

PS A Canadian woman in the Wimbledon final - hurrah! Nearly the same on the men's side - whodathunkit? In any case, it's a pleasure to see such a fine example of a Serbian man doing well.
