I had a completely different photo in mind for today, but when I got home and was unpacknig some stuff from the car I saw this gentleman. Or lady. I'm not sure how to sex a spider?

Anyway, s/he was sitting perfectly still in the centre of a rather large web, and what with the colours and stripes I knew I wanted to snag a picture. I put the magnifying filter on and took this.

After that< I tried going back with a more powerful filter, but by that time the spider had gone. So... Sorry I couldn't get any closer!
