My turn to be blipped. Boring, I know.

So the big event today was seeing Avatar in IMAX 3D. It's very much an immersive movie and needs to be seen in 3D. The alien world comes to life and is breath taking. I also liked all the characters. Maybe not a whole lot of depth or complexity to them but nothing jarring or irritating either. Some of the story line and elements are a little heavy handed and moralising which cheapens the experience somewhat. Still, overall it was a thoroughly engrossing and satisfying movie if for nothing else than the sheer scale of the vision and its execution.
