calm

A more restful day. In fact, not much to it at all.

That’s good of course. It’s called “holiday”.

Yes, I had work to do. Yes, I had a haircut. Yes, I had a wee gossip with cousin Linda and her partner at the Heritage Centre (they volunteer there).

I even had a back door barbecue at lunchtime.

I didn’t put much thought in a Blip until late evening. Then I found I had 5 decent possibilities.

I chose the shot of the Kimberley. I can remember my dad disappearing in there when we were kids, to catch up with school friends. For him, walking the dog always seemed to have the same end result.

These days it’s a gastro-pub. Great fish. I had scallops as a starter on Sunday night, followed by a massive bowl of mussels.

It has some lovely recent memories as well, especially when cousin Liz was living here and her daughter Claire worked in the pub.

Usually the outside tables would be crammed on a July evening, but a heavy shower about 6 would have finished that. I love it in mid-winter too. Cosy inside, with a roaring log fire.

I confess to having fantasies when I’m at home about driving up to Findhorn just for the day, so as to have a Buckie crab & a bowl of mussels.
