Great Blue Skimmer

There seem to be fewer insects around this year so I haven't bothered to break out the macro kit. Today, I noticed a few interesting flower flies on some winter creeper blooms and went into the house, changed to a macro lens and ring flash. Of course, by the time I got back out, there were none around. However, this dragonfly alit on a nearby twig and posed for some photos.
