Speckled Wood

Today, I walked the disused railway-line between Horam and Heathfield in East Sussex. This is part of what was called the 'Cuckoo Line'. It is just over two and a half miles each way but it took all day because I kept stopping to photograph some of the many butterflies around,

Large skipper, meadow brown, speckled wood, small white, large white, comma, small tortoiseshell and red admiral were all seen and photographed.

This one is the Specled Wood (Pararge aegeria)

Finally, thanks everyone for your comments on yesterday's celebratory blip. Thank you for the stars and hearts as well.
