Sunset over West Jackstraw Island
This is actually an educated guess. Still in the wilds of the Admiralty Islands, a small group of islands in the western end of the Thousand Islands, I'm not quite sure exactly if this is West Jackstraw Island, Beaurivage Island, or even the imaginatively titled Islands 5 or 6. The islands are so densely clustered in this area that while they are easy to distinguish from the water, they are much harder to identify on Google Maps. The area is beautiful and feels a bit like Venice, as there are nearly more islands than there is water - though of course navigating the land requires some sort of water transport.
This was taken after yet another sunset "drift", which basically consists of heading to an undiscovered bay, generally near one of the national park islands, turning off the engine and drifting to the sounds of birds, water and insects. Today featured lots of swimming and munching on (even more) homemade guacamole.
