Why you don't give a step team paint...
This morning, Josh and I were looking at the accounts of what we had left in the team fund, and we had the amazing privilege of telling Adelmo that we had enough money to finish the building. He was totally lost for words and was totally overwhelmed for a few minutes. This is one of the many beautiful moments here I will never forget. When Breidys was told over skype, she cried too she was so happy.
So Adelmo and Josh went out to several Ferreterias (I think the English word would be hardware shop...not entirely sure!) ordering and buying a variety of things that were needed on the site, including white paint.
Josh, Naomi and I started work on painting the lower wall white ready for our mural. As you can imagine when you give 3 teenagers (all be it 3 nearly not teenagers...Can't believe I'm going to be 20 before the end of the year...) paint and rollers and let them loose, about as much paint ends up on them as it does on the wall. This will make the next laundry day slightly more work, but the wall is ready for the mural and the Colombians thought it was hilarious just how covered in paint we were...!
