Saying Goodbye

Before the family set off back home, they called in to see The Mother. After all that has been going on lately, I was very pleased to get a photo of her with her Granddaughter and Great granddaughter, looking so good.

The next thing on the agenda was a visit to the doctor. She had had the report from the weekend call-out and, after examining The Mother, said she would make an appt for an abdo scan with regard to what could be causing fluid retention. We showed the doc how one of The Mother's ankles was a little swollen.

I also told the doctor about our hopes for The Mother getting a place in a Care Home. She was very pleased, especially when she realised I had no help. However, suddenly, everything changed! The doctor said she doesn't do calls to the home The Mother has stayed in before and told us which one she was assigned to.

In the afternoon we had a visit from the social worker to discuss Residential care. That seemed to go well.

The regular visits to her house and night time sleep-overs continue.
